The connotation of terms like decolonial varies for different generations. In 1960 Al-e-Ahmad wrote a book “Westeized”; a commentary on adaptation and imitation of Weste criteria in education and culture in Iran. His book was one of the inspiring sources for Islamic Revolution with the moto of “neither West, nor East, Islamic Republic”. Near 40 years later, Iran seems to be against West, and allies with Russia and China. Now, decolonial has strange connotations for me; on one hand, Easte powers like China and Russia use the opportunity of Weste sanctions against Iran, and on the other hand, Iranian govement inspired by anti-Weste thoughts uses this so called “enemy” as a justification to oppress its own people. I live in Mashhad, and my story is worth hearing, not only for being pulled between West and East, but also for my struggles to make myself free from historical, cultural and geographical determinations. پراکسیس...
